The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor condemned the Israeli Occupation's intensified attacks on schools being used as shelters for displaced persons in Gaza.

The Monitor confirmed on Friday that these attacks are part of a systematic policy aimed at forced displacement and the depopulation of Gaza.

It explained that this escalation coincides with illegal forced evacuation orders from northern Gaza to the south, reflecting an effort to expel residents and deny them stability.

The Monitor documented the direct bombing of nine schools used as shelters for thousands of displaced people in Gaza City over eight days. This led to the destruction of these schools and their collapse on top of the occupants.

The attacks resulted in the deaths of 79 Palestinians and injuries to 143 others, the majority of whom were women and children. Additional individuals are missing under the rubble due to a shortage of necessary rescue equipment.

The Monitor noted that these attacks lacked a legitimate military justification. The “Israeli” army attempted to justify them by claiming they targeted military or political figures, but this has not been substantiated.
